Awww…Oprah made me cry : ( I have not watched her from the beginning I started watching her about 10 years ago. I even sometimes stay up till 1am to watch an episode. I wish had been to one of her shows.

She has blessed many…I’m sure she will continue.

Random Update

Well my main computer went down last week. Years ago something like that would not have affected me much. Now it’s like not having a leg. I’m back on track now, thank God : ) I can not believe next week in Thanksgiving,, and R.L. will be 2 next month! Time is passing by so fast. The days are crisp and grey; these are the days of cozy warm rooms, a hot beverage, and family. Have a good weekend.

Last week I took some photos of Natasha, who is a model and also the sister of Nicole. Nicole is a hair and make-up artist, full service stylist that does really good work. Nicole and I also go to the same church which is where I met her. I was so excited when she approached me to shoot with her. I love doing shoots where I can get creative and the client is open to the non-traditional. One thing that really impressed me with Nicole and Natasha is they are visionaries. Both of them have books where they have visuals of things that inspire them. When I saw these I was so excited (I was jumping up and down, in my head of course). I knew that we were going to get some great photos. I look forward to working with Nicole and seeing her creations in others books : )

Aren’t Natasha’s eyes gorgeous, not only the color but their expressions.

My relationship with dishes…

When I was younger I use to wash dishes. My mom and I would take turns every night washing dishes. On the days my mom didn’t want to wash dishes she would pay me a dollar. One night my mother said do you want a dollar to wash the dishes…now normally I would say yes. However, that particular night I said,no! It was that night I realized the parent card is trump. My mom then told me I was going to wash the dishes, and not get a dollar : ( I was so mad. Every dish made me mad, I could not wait until there were no more dishes on the counter. Because that would mean, I was almost done. Of course I had to wash the counter, the sink and sweep the floor, argh. I totally dislike washing dishes. There are only two times I ever had a dishwasher, when I was 11 and I lived with my grandma for a minute, and when I was 21 and shared an apartment with my cousin. I wouldn’t even know what to do with one if I had one.

Fast forward every night after dinner I have an internal debate do I go upstairs or wash the dishes. I admit there are nights when I am like bump it, I’ll catch up with you tomorrow dishes. However trying to be a responsible adult I force myself, like I force my kids to eat un-liked vegetables, to wash dishes before I move on to something else. Tonight was like trying to get Zian to eat brussell sprouts (which I love,when cooked soggy). While washing dishes may have taken 15-25 minute ( I wasn’t actually timing),it seemed like an hour. Alas I finished I even took out the trash. So when I wake up in the morning, there is no glancing in the kitchen and seeing yet another thing I have to do today. Score one for me!

As a side note, which I may blog about more another time I wanted to say something about parenthood. As parent things my parents did when I was younger, I totally get now.

Sweetest Day Wedding

On Sweetest day a fellow photographer Arnita from Photos by Design took photos at the Coleman A.Young building in Downtown Detroit. Ok, I have to stay focused there are a lot of things I want to say, but I am avoiding doing homework and studying for Midterms (stay focused). Real quick my husband I eloped to Ohio almost 10 years ago (It was a quick process). His mom, one of his sisters and others we know did the same thing. Well now at the Coleman A Young building downtown you can get married the same day. I don’t know exactly how the process works, but you don’t have to go to Ohio to get married the same day. You can do it right in the D! So this past sweetest day that is exactly what some couples did. When I was shooting I was thinking this is so intimate. My husband and I got married at the bottom of a staircase, and it was just us, the pastor and God. I can picture that moment, as if I’m standing there now(ok…focus). Like I was saying you can get married in the D, the same day, Check it out : ) Call me after you get married so you and your hubby can get dolled up again or we can do it the same day and take some cool photos downtown, Belle Isle or somewhere in the D or surrounding areas.

I also want to give a BIG THANKS to my Aunt Sadiqah, and friend Tonjia for helping us that day. You guys totally saved us, thanks for the support. I have the most awesomest friends and family in the world.!

I met Tonjia when I shot her wedding a couple of years ago. She does flowers, and a mirad of other things she is way talented at. I’ll post some photos of her work in the future. Ok, don’t forget to click above to see the photo Arnita and I took.

Phone Trouble

My phone is in and out of a Coma. One minute it is working and the next it is not. It’s amazing; I was fine before I had a cell phone, now I feel like I can’t live without it. If you call me please leave a message. Hopefully I don’t accidentally erase it ,geesh. I met a lady at Office Depot and accidentally erased her number. If your reading this please call me, sorry. I don’t normally delete messages like that.

It’s a rough week and it’s only Tuesday,or is I don’t know what day it is right now. I am not complaining. I’m going to think positive and keep truckin : ) I hope every one has a great week : )

Fall Foliage…Randomness

Cold weather is here, and already I’m ready for spring or summer. Zian and Aleecia made the cheerleading team! Aleecia missed tryouts last year and she was so disappointed. This year Zian decided she wanted to do cheerleading. I’m so happy they both made the team : D

During the third and fourth week will be Fall Foliage. The session fee is $50, and you get a free 8×10. We will meet in a park where the leaves are all pretty and take some natural relaxed photos. Email me or call me if you’re interested.

Below are just a couple of photos of a sweet baby girl. I get nervous taking photos of little babies. You would think with my three I would be comfortable, this is something I need to work on. Not much going on, just trying to keep up with life : )

Wow where do I start,how many times have I started my post like this. I’m watching TV unininterupted (kids are sleeping) so many ,many thoughts are going through my head. Tim Hortons has coffee for 1.99 and a doughnut and something for 1.99. Christian Slater is on TV,what I haven’t seen him for a while. I really can’t wait till I can watch TV without homework : ) I admire girls with long eyelashes fake or real I like them. I love the the light in this series. This will be a different kind of post. While my life may not be considered interesting for most, I’m going to randomly post what’s going on,or my thoughts while I’m wathching this series and the commericial It’s 10:41 and I’m going to watch TV until 11:00pm and just say what I’m thinking it may not make since to everyone,please bare with me this is amusing to me. Here goes:
